Introduction: Gingival fibromas are benign connective tissue tumors, often considered reactive hyperplasias resulting from chronic irritation due to sharp teeth, abrasive foods, or ill-fitting dental prostheses. They represent approximately 4.5% of all benign oral mucosal lesions and are predominant in women between the third and sixth decades of life. The objective of this study was to describe a rare case of a giant gingival fibroma managed under local anesthesia in the Odontostomatology Department of the Idrissa POUYE General Hospital (HOGIP) in Dakar.
