Abstract

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a prevalent neurodevelopmental condition with complex etiology.Ayurveda offers a unique framework through the concept of Unmada. Objective: To correlate ASD with Unmada, delineate its Samprapti (pathogenesis) using classical and modern evidence, and synthesize Ayurvedic management strategies. Methods: A review was conducted by searching PubMed, Scopus, DHARA, and AYUSH Research Portal (2000-2025) using keywords autism spectrum disorder, Unmada, Ayurveda, Manovaha Srotas, and Samprapti. Classical texts (Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita) were also referenced.
