Abstract

Background: Kisspeptin and neurokinin B (NKB) are involved in the regulation of reproduction and thermogenic function. Nevertheless, the relationship between their premenopausal stage and individual menopausal symptoms has not been sufficiently characterized. This study aimed to determine the relationship between serum kisspeptin and neurokinin B concentrations with menopausal symptoms among premenopausal women. Methods: This is a case control study conducted at Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital, Babylon Province, Iraq during April 2026-August 2026. The study analyzed 90 premenopausal women complaining of menopausal symptoms, together with the same amount of apparently healthy control premenopausal women. Serum concentrations of kisspeptin and neurokinin B were assessed by ELISA.
