Jana Nexus: Journal of Health and Medicine follows a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review model to ensure fairness, objectivity, confidentiality, and academic integrity in the evaluation of manuscripts.
Peer Review Model
- The journal operates a Double-Blind Peer Review system, in which:
- Authors do not know the identity of reviewers
- Reviewers do not know the identity of authors
- All identifying information is removed from manuscripts before review.
- Peer review is conducted by independent experts in the relevant field.
Review Process
- Initial Editorial Screening
Manuscripts are screened for scope, originality, ethical compliance, and plagiarism. - Reviewer Assignment
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers selected based on subject expertise. - Review Evaluation
Reviewers assess the manuscript for:- Scientific validity and methodological rigor
- Originality and significance
- Ethical compliance
- Clarity of presentation and structure
- Relevance to health and medical sciences
- Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide:- Accept
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Reject
Confidentiality and Anonymity
- All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential documents.
- Reviewers must not disclose, share, or use manuscript content for personal or professional advantage.
- Reviewer identities are not revealed to authors at any stage.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews
- Declare any conflicts of interest and decline reviews where conflicts exist
- Avoid personal criticism and maintain professional tone
- Report suspected ethical issues (plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication)
Author Responsibilities
Authors must:
- Submit anonymized manuscripts for double-blind review
- Respond to reviewers’ comments respectfully and comprehensively
- Clearly highlight revisions in resubmitted manuscripts
- Avoid attempting to identify or contact reviewers
Conflicts of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the review process. Manuscripts with unresolved conflicts may be reassigned or rejected.
Review Integrity and Misconduct
- The journal does not tolerate peer review manipulation, fabricated reviewer identities, or coercive citation practices.
- Any breach of peer review ethics will be investigated and handled according to established ethical guidelines.
Appeals and Complaints
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a reasoned explanation. Appeals are reviewed by senior editorial members not involved in the original decision. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision is final.
